Agartala, Saturday: A two-day kite flying competition titled \u201cGuddiBaj\u201d began on Saturday at Badharghat Matri Palli in Agartala, organized by a private organization. The organization has been arranging such competitions for the past several years. In the competition, the first prize winner will receive \u20b910,000 and a trophy, the second prize winner \u20b97,000 and a trophy, and the third prize winner \u20b95,000 along with a trophy. There will also be a \u201cMan of the Tournament\u201d award.The inaugural programme was attended by corporator Prosenjit Lodh, local social worker Manish Deb and others.Speaking on the occasion, Prosenjit Lodh said that kite flying is a traditional sport and praised the organizers for keeping the tradition alive. He also stated that if the youth remain involved in sports, they will stay away from addiction, which will help in building a drug-free Tripura.Other speakers also urged the youth to actively participate in sports and constructive activities.
