\nAgartala, June 15: A one-day district-level workshop on natural farming was organized on Monday at Priyalal Saha Smriti Bhavan in Pratapgarh by the West Tripura District Office of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers\u2019 Welfare as part of the \u201cKhet Bachao Abhiyan\u201d (Save the Fields Campaign).<\/p>\n
The workshop was inaugurated by ministerRatan Lal Nath. Deputy Mayor Monika Das Datta attended the event as the special guest. Agricultural officials, experts, scientists, and farmers were also present.<\/p>\n
The workshop focused on the importance of natural farming, promoting environmentally friendly agricultural practices by reducing the use of chemical fertilizers, lowering production costs, and increasing farmers\u2019 income. Experts highlighted the benefits of natural farming in preserving soil fertility, ensuring safe food production, and developing a sustainable agricultural system.<\/p>\n
In his inaugural address, Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath outlined various initiatives undertaken by the state government to promote natural farming and encouraged farmers to adopt these methods. He stated that natural farming can play a significant role in protecting both the environment and public health.<\/p>\n
Participants were also introduced to modern and natural farming technologies, while agricultural experts addressed various queries raised by farmers.
