Agartala, June 16: Various political and social organizations paid tribute on Tuesday to freedom fighter Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das on the occasion of his 100th death anniversary. Programmes were organized to commemorate the contributions of one of the foremost leaders of India’s freedom movement, a distinguished lawyer, and a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress.<\/p>\n
Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das passed away on June 16, 1925, in Darjeeling. He is widely remembered as the political mentor of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and as the founder of the Swaraj Party, which was established to advance the cause of self-rule and challenge British colonial rule in India.<\/p>\n
As part of the observance, the Socialist Unity Centre of India organized a tribute programme at Orient Chowmuhani in Agartala. Party leaders and workers paid floral tributes and offered garlands at the portrait of Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das.<\/p>\n
Speakers at the event highlighted his ideals, patriotism, and remarkable contribution to India’s struggle for independence. They stated that his sacrifices and dedication to the nation would continue to inspire future generations.<\/p>\n
SUCI leaders also emphasized that the organization would continue its struggle to uphold democratic values and the rights of the common people, guided by the ideals of Deshbandhu.
