Agartala, June 16: At least seven shops were completely destroyed in a devastating fire that broke out late Monday night in the Court Complex area near Office Lane in Agartala. While the blaze caused extensive damage, the exact cause of the fire and the total extent of losses have not yet been determined.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday morning, officials from the SDM Office visited the site and collected preliminary information regarding the damage. Later, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder, Corporator Jahanabi Das Dutta, and Bordowali Assembly Constituency Mandal President Shyamal Kumar De also inspected the affected area.<\/p>\n
During the visit, the representatives interacted with the affected shopkeepers and listened to their concerns. Speaking to the media, Mayor Dipak Majumder stated that efforts would be made to arrange government assistance for the affected traders within the next two days.He further said that after a comprehensive assessment of the losses is completed, necessary measures would be taken under the initiative of the Chief Minister to support the victims from a humanitarian perspective.<\/p>\n
