The incident occurred in the international border area between India and Bangladesh in Hirachhara ADC Village of Irani Police Station in Kailashahar. BSF managed to seize eight cows but could not nab the smugglers. smuggler ran away on seeing the BSF . There is tension in the area over the incident. Eight cows seized by BSF were brought to Irani police station and handed over to the police. Incidentally, almost those cows are smuggled to Bangladesh through this area.
