In the field of industry and commerce in the state, there has been significant progress during the present government. As a result, financial improvement of the state is reflected. Industry and Commerce Minister Santvana Chakma said this while officially releasing a booklet detailing the achievements of the Industries and Commerce Department at Mahakaran Press Conference Hall today. He said, among the important works of this office is laying the foundation stone of multi-sector special economic zone in Sabrum. This Special Economic Zone will play a significant role in the development of the state in the future. Moreover, the guidelines of the self-reliance scheme have been revised. 18 thousand 547 MSDME units have been set up, through which 23 thousand 32 people have been given employment opportunities. 4 new district industrial centers have been set up in 4 districts of the state. A tool room and training center has been set up at RK Nagar in West District. Chief Minister Agarbati Atmanirbhar Mission has been launched for the development of Agarbati sector. As a result, special assistance is being given to those associated with the preparation of Agarbati Shalaka. The construction of the Friendship Bridge over the Feni River at Sarum has created a new opportunity for trade between the two countries.<\/div>\n

Industry and Commerce Minister Ms. Chakma said that during this period, the Destination Tripura-Investment Summit was held in the state in 2021, where 81 MoUs were signed. He said that trade with Bangladesh has increased by 158 percent in the last four years. Construction of integrated check post at Sattum is in progress. A single window portal \u201cSwagat\u201d has been launched in coordination with all departments to help entrepreneurs set up industries in the state. New logo and brand of Tripura Tea launched. 7 new ITIs have been launched at Savanthganj, Teliamura, Kamalpur, Longtarivali, Kanchanpur, Gandachra and Shantir Bazar to increase efficiency in the industrial sector. Women ITI, Indranagar inaugurated as state of art building. Foundation stone of border hut has been laid at Kurmaghat in Kamalpur and another border hut will be set up at Ragna.<\/div>\n

He said that the Chief Minister’s Tea Workers Welfare Scheme is a significant project of this department, through which 4 thousand 190 families working in tea plantations have been identified and given various facilities including land. In the press conference, Abhishek Chandra, Special Secretary of the Department of Industry and Commerce, presented information about the activities of the last 6 months, especially the launch of auction centers for tea, workshops on kinetic energy, and activities on MSMEs.
