The first raid took place in Lankamura area. A young man named Sukesh Majumdar of that area was arrested by the police with drug tablets. Another raid was conducted in Yogendranagar area. A youth named Vinay Das of the area was arrested. 28 grams of brown sugar was also recovered. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ajay Kumar Das said that the arrested 2 persons will be handed over to the court on Wednesday. Besides, the police will apply for remand to recover other information from them. Moreover, he also said that 14 naka points have already been installed in the city in view of the upcoming elections. Four more checkpoints will be set up from today and 24-hour vigil on suspicious movements will be intensified. Besides, he said that such anti-drug operations with the central forces will intensify after the announcement of elections.
