The common people of the area and the personnel of the Gandachhara Fire Department made several attempts to rescue the two teenage girls who drowned in the river. On Saturday night, the NDRF team left Agartala for Gandachhara. The NDRF jawans searched since Sunday morning and recovered the frozen bodies of the two girls around 11:30 am. According to the police, the dead bodies of the two girls were handed over to the family after post-mortem examination. The tragic incident of the two girls cast a shadow of mourning on the area. The names of the two deceased girls are Seema Chakma and Shanti Mala Chakma.
