During the financial year, 38 thousand 70 units of blood were collected through voluntary blood donation in the state. Which is much closer to the requirement every year, it has been possible in view of everyone being inspired by the thought of ‘man for man’. This was said by the Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha while addressing the blood donation camp organized by Sri Sri Ramthakur Seva Mandir in Banmalipur today on the occasion of Tirodhan Divas of the late 4th Mohant Maharaj Shri Bhavatosh Bandyopadhyay. He said about 40 lakh people are living in Tripura now. 40,000 units of blood are required as a percent every year. Therefore, there can be no alternative to voluntary blood donation camps.<\/div>\n

The Chief Minister said that only blood donation will not do. If this blood is not stored properly there is a risk of it getting spoiled. There are now 7 government blood storage units as a result of the initiative of the government. He said currently there are 12 government blood banks in the state. Two of them are private blood banks. Besides, there are 6 blood component separation units in the state. Out of these 4 are government and 2 are private.<\/div>\n

Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha said that the history of blood donation in the state of Tripura is old. When the government called for blood donation, people participated spontaneously. During the last assembly election, there was some difference in the balance of the blood donation program, whenever he called everyone to come forward to donate blood, he expressed his gratitude for the way various social organizations as well as religious institutions have come forward. The Chief Minister said that God has given us such a gift in the form of blood, nothing can be greater than this. So by donating blood, one blood donor can save the lives of four dying people.<\/div>\n

The Chief Minister said blood is always needed for thalassemia, cancer and accidents. When blood banks in the state do not have adequate blood stock, problems arise. However, the government has issued necessary instructions to the hospitals so that the treatment of any patient is not disturbed due to lack of blood. He said, there is a sense of peace when you come to the ashram. But when one notices turmoil around some negative political cause, there is great suffering. But the government is working hard to solve all kinds of problems of the people.<\/div>\n

Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy thanked the devotees of Sri Sri Ramthakur Seva Mandir as a religious institution as well as various business and social organizations to protect the blood stock in hospitals. Tripura Tea Development Corporation Chairman Santosh Saha, Senior Journalist Subal Kumar Dey and others were also present on the occasion.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
