Making progress on the\u00a0\u2018G20 Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG)\u2019, MeitY is organising the third in-person meeting of DEWG in Pune from June 12-14, 2023. As a part of curtain raiser event, the press briefing was done by Shri Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary, MeitY in the presence of Shri Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary, MeitY & Co-Chair, G20 DEWG and Shri Vikram Kumar, Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation on June 11, 2023.<\/p>\n

The first day of the third meeting of DEWG will begin with the inauguration of two days\u2019\u00a0\u2018Global DPI Summit\u2019\u00a0and\u00a0\u2018Global DPI Exhibition\u2019, by Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State in MeitY and MSDE, in the august presence of Mr. Gevorg Mantashyan, First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Tamba Edward Juana, Permanent secretary, Sierra Leone, Ms. Rishma Nimi Kuldipsingh, Hon’ble Minister, Suriname and Mr. Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary, MeitY, Government of India. The inaugural session will also have signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with some of the interested countries on sharing INDIA STACK i.e. successful digital solutions implemented at population scale.<\/p>\n

The Global DPI Summit over the next two days will have focused discussions among global experts and digital leaders on \u2018Overview of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)\u2019, \u2018Digital Identities for empowering people\u2019, \u2018Digital Payments and Financial Inclusion\u2019, \u2018DPI for Judicial Systems and Regulations\u2019, \u2018Digital Document Exchange for efficient service delivery\u2019, \u2018Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for DPI\u2019, \u2018Digital Education and Skilling\u2019, \u2018DPI for Digital Health and Climate Action\u2019, \u2018Digital Agriculture Ecosystem\u2019, and \u2018Building the Global DPI Ecosystem\u2019.\u00a0 The summit will be attended by around 300 senior delegates, out of this, participation will include 46 countries and approx. 150 foreign delegates, and 9 countries will participate at their Ministerial level. Also, 47 Global Digital Leaders will join the summit as esteemed speakers to share their subject matter expertise and country\u2019s experience. International Organisations participating in the summit includes UNDP, UNESCO, WEF, World Bank, ITU, ADB, ICRISAT, OECD, UNCDF, Asia PKI Consortium, BMGF, etc.<\/p>\n

Also, Global DPI Exhibition will be held in parallel to showcase 14 experience zones\u00a0on Digital Identity, Fast Payment, DigiLocker, Soil Health Card, E-National Agriculture Market, Unified Mobile App for New-Age Governance, Open Network for Digital Commerce, Anamorphic experience, Seamless travel experience at airport, Language Translation, Learning Solution, Tele-Medical Consultation Experience and Gamification of Digital India Journey.<\/p>\n

On the second and third day of the meetings, G20 Members, invited guest countries and International Organisations will have extensive discussion on the actionable deliverables in priority areas namely \u2018Digital Public Infrastructure\u2019, \u2018Cybersecurity\u2019 and \u2018Digital Skilling\u2019.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Stay Safe Online (SSO)\u2019 campaign and \u2018G20 Digital Innovation Alliance (DIA)\u2019 have been launched under Indian Presidency to engage with common people especially youths and entrepreneurs in G20 Member States. So far, under Stay Safe Online campaign, 2,19,000+ persons have participated in the national level Cyber Quizzes. Under DIA, 2460+ Start-ups have applied for the contest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
