Later, the CPM leadership said that they were promised by the police that when the CPM party would seek permission to hold a programme, the police would grant that permission. In this speech, the CPM party released the siege of the police station like today. On the other hand, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Abhijit Das refuted this claim of CPM and said that no such word was given.
