Vijoy dibash is celebrated on 16 December every year to celebrate the Indian Army’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War for the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan.
The end of the war resulted in the unilateral and unconditional surrender of the Pakistan Army and the subsequent secession of East Pakistan from the state of Pakistan to form Bangladesh.
Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu,Minister Pranajit Singh Roy along with Army officials paid tributes to the martyrs of that war at Elbert Ekka Park today on this great Vijoy dibash.The Governor flag off a bike and bi cycle rally on the occasion.
