Sonamura poet Nazrul Mahavidyal witnessed a scandalous chapter. Several teachers and the principal of the college were attacked by some of the students of the college. Later they ransacked the college premises, vandalized various furniture of the college including chairs and tables.
It is known that some students of the college were collecting money from the students of the college as they will try to conduct Nabinbaran in the college, this was prevented by the college principal and other teachers. Later, the students met the principal and asked him for money for nabinbaran. Principal Uday Narayan Adhakari made it clear that there is no money in their funds for nabinbaran and the state government has no guidelines for nabinbaran. After that, some scoundrel students attacked the principal of the college along with several teachers. The principal of the college Udayanarayan Adhikari, teacher Dr. Manbendu Debnath, teacher Pranab Das, teacher Yadav Bindu Malakar were affected in the incident of the day.
After this incident, the college informed the Sonamura police station and before the police arrived, the miscreants involved in the incident ran away from the college.
The police came and started an investigation, after some time the leaders of the ruling party came and spoke to the principal of the college.
The principal said with a heavy heart that he never thought that his students could behave like this.
