ASSAM RIFLES AND CUSTOMS DEPARTMENT SEIZE GOLD WORTH ₹1.02 CR IN TRIPURA

 

In a significant crackdown on smuggling activities, Assam Rifles in collaboration with Customs Department successfully seized 24 carat of gold in bars and unfinished ornaments from general area Badarghat, West Tripura district on 22 Feb 25.
The 14 gold bars and ornaments seized weighed 1.15 kgs and has an estimated value of ₹1.02 crore in international market.

Acting on a specific intelligence, the joint team executed the operation with coordination and recovered the gold and also apprehended two individuals. The seized gold and the individuals were handed over to the authorities for further legal action.

This successful interception is part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to curb illegal activities along border areas.
