The government has been continuously making efforts to improve the health services in the state. The government has given priority to the development of health infrastructure to provide all types of advanced medical services within the state. Work is underway to convert every health center in the state into a health and wellness center. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the state-wide program organized on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the first anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission at Hall No. 2 of Rabindra Centenary Bhawan in Agartala today. He said Ayuman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is one of the largest health insurance schemes in the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been praised by the world for the successful implementation of this project. The scheme provides cashless assistance of up to Rs.5 lakh per annum for medical treatment to eligible beneficiary families, which has brought a lot of relief in terms of medical services to financially weaker sections of people.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that in terms of health services, Tripura is not lagging behind in any respect compared to other states. Good relationship between doctor and patient is very important for good service. Also, the patients and their families should trust the doctors. Have faith in their medical services. Besides, doctors and health workers should treat patients and their families well who come to the hospital. The Chief Minister mentioned the government’s efforts to upgrade Tripura Medical College to RIMS or Nigrims, build AIIMS Hospital, set up Dental College. In his speech, he also opined that Asha workers and health workers have an important role to play in the successful implementation of the Chief Minister’s Healthy Childhood and Healthy Adolescence programme. The Chief Minister said that the government is working with special importance to develop better health infrastructure in the state. On the occasion, the beneficiaries covered under the scheme along with the District Program Coordinators of various districts were felicitated for the successful implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana at the district level in the state. On the occasion, awards were presented for the district implementing the best scheme in implementation of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana in the state, the most Ayurman card issue, Arogya Mitra who admitted patients to hospitals etc. Moreover, various health institutions of the state were also awarded for the achievement of maximum AAVA card issue, National Quality Assurance Standard, target program under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The Chief Minister and other guests presented the awards to them.
