A unique form of natural beauty of the state is Dambur reservoir. The mesmerizing beauty of this water body is sure to impress you every time you see it. The promotion of this wonderful tourist center should be spread abroad. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the newly constructed cottages at Narkelkunj of Dambur reservoir today. It is to be noted that the construction of 23 log huts was started in Narkel Kunj under the Swadesh Darshan-1 project. Currently 15 have been completed. For this, the cost will be 7 crore 59 lakhs. They are modeled after Canada’s Eden Fabricated log huts. Besides today Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha also inaugurated the newly purchased adventure water sports program.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said that there is no proper idea about the tourism sector of Tripura outside the state. During the tenure of the previous government, there was no work to be said for the development of the tourism sector. Now the state government is working for overall development of tourism. The chief minister also said that now whenever he goes abroad he promotes the beauty of various tourist spots in the state including Dongur. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said that the state government wants to keep the nation united. The government is working in that direction. This government is the people’s government. Working for the development of the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The chief minister also said that through good governance in every house, work is being done for 100 percent success of various projects of the state and central government. About 5 lakh foreign tourists have come to the state in the last 1 year. The government has been working since the beginning to attract tourists. He also said that the government is always committed to the overall welfare of the people. For this purpose, the Agartala Airport has been named after Maharaja Bir Vikram, the Garia Puja holiday has been extended by 2 days and the overall development of TTAADC is also being worked on.
Agartala Government Medical College will soon start 9 super specialty system. Number of seats increased in two medical colleges. The government is working to improve the health system of the state at the grass root level. The Chief Minister also said that the government is working for the overall development of the state, and the government will work for the development of the state with the support of the people in the coming days as well. 100 crores have been spent on the development of tourist spots. 200 crore rupees will be spent through ADB in the coming days. The road leading to Narkelkunj through Mandirghat is being improved. A new helipad has been constructed. A suspension bridge will be constructed to reach Narkelkunj via Gandatuisa. He also said that the Prasad scheme will be worked on for the improvement of Teerthamukh and Bhubaneswari temples. He also said that there is a system to give up to 5 lakh rupees at low interest from the department for any business related to tourism. Minister of Tourism On the occasion, MP Revati Tripura said that the state government is working for the development of the state within the time as promised. He advised local people to treat tourists from outside with a spirit of service and cooperation. He also said that 2,000 homestays have been approved by the central government in the north-east. It should be noted that each Loghat in Narkelkunj has 1 bedroom, drawing room, toilet and balcony. For the tourists there will be jetski riding, speed boat of Sait Singh, fishing.
On the occasion, tourism department handed over souvenirs to all the guests including the chief minister. Moreover, under the Good Governance Program in each house, 4 self-help groups are given loan funds through checks for various projects. Among others present on the occasion were MLA Parimal Devavarma, MDC Vurunananda Riat, Dhalai District Magistrate UK Chakma and Superintendent Ramesh Chandra Yadav. Department Secretary Kiran Gitye gave a welcome speech on the occasion.
