Various programs have been undertaken on the occasion of the 75th anniversary celebrations of the ancient school Pragati vidya Bhavan in Agartala city. Tapas Deb, Secretary of the School Managing Committee informed about the program through a press conference today. On September 24 and September 25, there will be several events including blood donation. This includes distribution of clothes to the needy in slum areas on 24th September as well as 75 tree plantations in school premises. Next day i.e. morning of 25th September there will be a colourful rally. Then hoisting of school flag and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan will be held. Surjit Dutta, MLA of the area and alumnus of the school, will start the main program at 9 am. Who is constantly helping the school donated 5 lakh rupees from the MLA area development fund for the school gate a few days back. State Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will be present as the chief guest on the day’s function, besides former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Mayor Dipak Majumdar, local corporator Abhishek Dutta will also be present. On that occasion, former teachers of the school will be felicitated and a mega blood donation camp and health camp will be organised. Apart from the secretary of the school managing committee, other members of the managing committee including the current headmistress of the school were present in this press conference.
