A review meeting was held today on the progress of various developmental works in North Tripura district. Deputy Chief Minister Yishnu Debbarma presided over the review meeting. The Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the progress of various projects being implemented in the district in this meeting held at the conference hall of the District Magistrate’s office of North Tripura district. In the meeting, he emphasized on accelerating the pace of development work.
In the review meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Yishnu Debvarma said that priority should be given to health, education, drinking water, road communication, electricity, agriculture and agriculture related sectors for public welfare. Projects in all these areas should be implemented properly so that a large number of people can benefit. In the meeting, District Magistrate and Samaharta Nagesh Kumar B presented the progress of various developmental works of the district. The District Magistrate said that 22 lakh 69 thousand 988 labor days have been created in the district till October 27 of the current financial year in MGN REGA. Also, construction of 110 paver block roads has been completed in the district so far. The District Magistrate also said that in the current fiscal year, afforestation has been done in 8 blocks of the district in an area of 639 hectares. This afforestation is done in agar, rubber and agroforestry. In the meeting, the District Magistrate also said that 13 thousand 249 cookhouses have been constructed for the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural Scheme. Also newly approved for construction of 3 thousand 363 kitchens in PMAY (Rural) in the district. In this meeting, the progress of development work of various departments like Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission, Road Communication, Agriculture etc. was reviewed.
