To build a drug-free Tripura, a high-level meeting was held yesterday at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Sports Minister Sushanta Chowdhury at the initiative of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department. In the meeting, various decisions were taken in presence of the officials of the Education, Health, Police, Information and Cultural Affairs Deparment to make Drug-Free Tripura programme a success. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Sushantu Chowdhury said that a campaign against drag addiction is being carried out by the state administration extensively and success is also being achieved in this regard. He further said that the police alone will not be able to make this campaign successful and to make this programme successful every citizens of the state should come forward.
In the meeting. Sports Minister Sushanta Chowdhury emphasized on campaigning in different block markets, public places to make drug free Tripum programme successful. He suggested to conduct awareness camps with students from school to college level. He also suggested that different sports events be organized by sports department to make this programme successful. He also suggested organizing road plays, awareness camps through prominent personalities of the society under the initiative of Information and Cultural Affairs Department,
The meeting was attended by Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilia Parishad Antare Sarkar Deb, Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Manika Das Dutta, Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs and Youth Affairs and Sports Department P.K Chakraborty. Officials from Police Department, Sabhacipati of different Zilla Parishads, Sahakari Sabhadhipati and officials of different departments.
