Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik inaugurated a new superspecialty service “PAIN CLINIC” at aGMC & GBP Hospital.
And himself received the services of this clinic. At present, this service will be available for two days, if the number of patients increases in the future, then this service will be launched for a longer period, said Union State Minister Pratima Bhowmik. He urged the people of the state to accept this service.
Pain Clinic service is a superspeciality service of Anaesthesiology Department, where any chronic pain is treated through various interventions and medicines using latest research methods. Hip pain, neck pain, various arthritis pain, cancer pain, bone-muscle and nerve related pain will be treated in this clinic using modern methods.
This new pain clinic was started in Room 46 next to Surgery OPD on the top floor of OPD Ticket counter of NTH-2 building. Patients can visit this pain clinic two days a week (Monday and Thursday) by booking a ticket from the OPD counter. Dr. Rajesh Chowdhury, MD, FIPM (Pain Specialist) will see patients at the Pain Clinic these two days. Those who need any intervention,- they will be taken to Pain OT once a week for that procedure.
Very few hospitals in the country have this superspecialty service. There is no doubt that the people of Tripura will benefit immensely from these state-of-the-art medical services.
