Deputy Chief Minister Yishnu Debvarma unveiled the statue of Maharaja Birchandra Manikya at Birchandra State Central Library in Agartala this afternoon. On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister also inaugurated various facilities in the library, including ramps for divangans, Raja Rammohan Roy Library Corner and modern library automation services. Education Minister Ratanlal Nath, Agartala Purnigam Mayor Deepak Majumdar, Tripura Higher Education Council Chairman Prof. Arunodaya Saha, Tripura Tea Development Corporation Chairman Santosh Saha were among others present on the occasion. Director of Higher Education Department Nripendra Chandra Sharma presided over the inauguration ceremony. Many teachers, students and library readers were also present. Birchandra Library Head Librarian Dilip Kumar Das informed this news in a press release.
