CPIM state committee member and five-time MLA from Bamutia constituency Haricharan Sarkar passed away on Friday. He was 78 years old at the time of his death. Haricaran Sarkar was a militant leader associated with the left-wing movement for a long time. For the past few years he was suffering from senile ailments. He had suffered a heart attack a few days ago. He was undergoing treatment at GB Hospital. He passed away today. As the news of his death spread in the political circles, a shadow of grief fell. The CPIM party paid their last respects to the late leader at Melarmath office. His last rites were performed this evening.
