Bulti Acharya, daughter of late Pranab Acharjee of Pandabpur area under Amtali Thana of Kamalasagar Assembly was socially married to Tuton Thakur, son of Sudarshan Thakur of Kayadhepa under Madhupur Thana. Allegedly, torture continued on the bride for several months of marriage. On Saturday, her husband called her mother and said that her daughter had committed suicide by hanging. The mother rushed to see the girl with injuries on her head. He alleged that the girl was tortured and her head was cracked before being killed and hanged. Bulti Acharya’s mother demanded a proper investigation of this incident and punishment of the culprits. This incident cast a shadow of mourning on the area.
