The current government is working on a zero tolerance policy against drug addiction. Youth has a big role to play in realizing this goal of the government. Apart from the youth society, it is possible to build a drug-free Tripura with the collective efforts of citizens from every section of the society. This was said by Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha at the colorful cultural program organized to mark the closing ceremony of Khelo Tripura, Healthy Tripura program at Swami Vivekananda Maidan this evening. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also said that Khelo Tripura, Sangal Tripura program has been conducted through various programs across the state on the initiative of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports for the last one month. The main objective of this program is to make Tripura a drug-free kingdom. On the occasion, the Chief Minister wished the success of today’s cultural evening. On the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Yishnu Debvarma said that India’s greatest strength is youth. Public opinion against addiction should be formed by organizing this youth power. Only then it is possible to make Tripura drug free.
On the occasion, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Sushant Chowdhury said, Khelo Tripura, Sangal Tripura program has been conducted through various programs for the past one month on the initiative of Youth Affairs and Sports Department. The main objective of which is to keep the youth of the state away from addiction. He said that among the various steps of the program, free sports equipment will be distributed among 1,500 clubs in the state. Sports materials will be distributed to 25 clubs in Agartala today. He said that sports materials will be distributed to other clubs in the state step by step.
