The National Lok Adalat is sitting in the state on Saturday, February 11. Court work will start from 10 am. Apart from the Tripura High Court, these Lok Adalats will sit on public holidays in all district and sub-divisional court premises of the state. A total of 6,664 cases will be taken up for disposal in 52 benches. This includes 3,949 cases related to previous disputes and 2,715 cases pending in court. 3,149 cases relating to repayment of bank loans, 226 motor accident compensation cases, 3 cases relating to land acquisition, 800 cases relating to unpaid bills of telecommunication corporations, 2,180 cases relating to arbitrable criminal disputes (MB Act, TP Act), matrimonial disputes in the National Lok Adalat. 183 cases, 85 cases related to check bounce and 37 other civil related cases will be taken up for disposal. Meanwhile, a bench will sit in the Tripura High Court. 26 cases will be taken up for disposal in this bench. A maximum of 10 benches will sit in Lok Adalat in Agartala court premises. Notice has already been given to both the parties/opposites of the case. The court will have a help desk to help smart citizens. Paralegal volunteers will help people who have received court smart notices. Tripura State Legal Service Authority Member Secretary Datamohan Jamatia has requested all concerned to take advantage of case settlement quickly and without legal expenses.
