As per the notification of the Election Commission of India, Tripura Assembly Election 2023 will be held on February 16. The Election Commission has taken various initiatives to complete the polling process in a fair, free, peaceful and violence-free environment. Voting for government employees, police personnel, car drivers and other voters engaged in polling will begin from February 8 to February 12 through secret ballot from 9 am to 4 pm. After polling, the ballot papers will be kept under strict surveillance in the strong room of the Returning Officers of their respective assembly constituencies. Ballot paper votes will be counted first on the counting day of
March 2.
Voter Facilitation Centres/Polling Centres will be opened at different Sub-Divisional Headquarters for the convenience of polling staff. In Mohanpur sub-division polling will be held at Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya, in Sadar sub-division polling will be conducted at Shishu Bihar HS School, in Jirania sub-division polling will be conducted at Birendranagar School, in Jampuijala Sub-Division at Jampuijala Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s Office, in Bishalgarh sub- division at Office Tilla HS School, Sonamura Sub-Division at NC Institution, in Khowai Sub- Division at Khowai Government H.S School, in Teliamura Sub-Division at Netaji Nagar High School, in Udaipur Sub-Division at Kirit Bikram Institution, in Amarpur Sub-Division at Amarpur H.S School, in Karbook Sub-Divsion at Panjiham HS School, in Belonia Sub-division at Belonia Vidyapeeth H.S School, in Santirbazar Sub-division at Santirbazar Higher Secondary School, in Sabroom Sub-division at Sabroom Higher Secondary School, Gandatwisa Sub-division at Kabi Guru Rabindranath HS School, in Kamalpur Sub-division at Kamalpur Govt English Medium HS School, in Ambassa Sub-division at Kulai Primary School, in Longtrai valley Sub- division at Chailengta H.S School, in Kumarghat Sub-division at Pabiacherra H.S School, in Kailasahar Subdivision at R.K Institution, in Dharmanagar Sub-division at Dharmanagar Government Girls HS School, in Panisagar Subdivision at Panisagar HS School and in Kanchanpur Sub-Division votes will be accepted by staff engaged in polling through secret ballot at the designated Facilitation Centre at Kanchanpur H.S School. So far 35,666 thousands Form 12 have been collected from polling staffs. Emergency Service Associated Personnel (PVC) will vote at Postal Voting Facilitation Centre.
Apart from this, the polling personnel will go door to door on February 9 and 10 for elderly citizens above 80 years, divyangians and bedridden voters under the supervision of the Returning Officers of the respective assembly constituencies, 8,009 voters in the state have submitted Form 12-D. The Chief Electoral Officer urged voters from all sections of the society to participate in polling peacefully. Additional Chief Electoral Officer informed this in a press release.
