A man named Premananda Das committed suicide by hanging over a family dispute. This is what is believed by the family of the deceased. The incident took place in Kalitila area under Teliamura police station.
According to the details of the incident, Premanand Das was missing from home since Wednesday. On Thursday morning, Premananda Das’s wife found her husband hanging from the roof of the house. On seeing the incident, the residents started screaming and shouting, along with other members of the house came running. Later, information was given to Teliamura police station. The Teliamura police reached the spot and took the dead body to the Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem. It is known that the suicidal Premananda Das and his wife used to have frequent quarrels. A case of bride torture was even filed against Premanand by his in-laws and his wife at the police station. However, the exact reason for this suicide is still not clear.The incident created a sensation in the area.
