On the basis of secret information, brown sugar worth 3 crore rupees was recovered during a search at Boleru Max at Naka Point of Srirampur Police in Kamalpur on the way from Dharmanagar to Agartala along the smuggling route. Ambasa sub-division police chief Suman Majumdar rushed to Srirampur Naka Point after receiving the news. There was additional police chief of Dhalai district along with the OC of Kamalpur police station and a large police force. The incident happened around 10:30 pm on Saturday. 244 boxes of brown sugar were seized.
