Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the 41st Agartala Book Fair at Hanpania International Fair premises today. The 13-day long 41st Agartala Book Fair has started today at Hanpania International Fair premises with the theme ‘Vasudhaib Kutumbkam, Agartala Book Fair’. In the opening ceremony of the book fair, Chief Minister along with other guests unveiled the book fair number of Bangla and Kakbar book fair theme song, Samarnika, Gomti.
Inaugurating the book fair, the chief minister said, I am overwhelmed by the crowd of excited people present at the book fair today. A strange atmosphere has been created in the presence of books and the younger generation. The book fair, which started in 1981, is being held today at the Hanpania International Fair premises in Ananya Kolebar. Speaking at the event, Tourism Minister Sushant Chowdhury said that even though the demand for books has decreased in the digital era, its importance is still undiminished. The exchange of knowledge and ideas between writers, publishers, readers and readers is important in book fairs. On the occasion of Tourism Minister Sushant Chowdhury’s interest, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha advised the Department of Information and Culture to organize book fairs at the district and sub-divisional levels in the coming days. The tourism minister also said that representatives of Bangladesh are also present at every book fair in this state. Because the people of Apar and Opar Bengal are all complementary to each other.
Explaining the importance of organizing the book fair at Hanpania International Fair premises, the tourism minister said that the area of Agartala city is increasing in terms of development. Hence Agartala Book Fair and other such big programs are being organized outside the main center of Agartala city in extended areas and as per the demand of time. While speaking at the event, People’s Republic of Bangladesh MP Pran Gopal Dutta said that organizing such a book fair is very important in taking Bengali language further. Book fair is a gathering of readers, writers, publishers. He thanked the organizers for organizing such a big book fair beautifully and smoothly. MLA Ramprasad Pal, MLA Meena Rani Sarkar also spoke. The welcome speech was given by the secretary of the Department of Information and Culture PK Chakraborty. After the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister along with other guests inaugurated and visited the Theme Pavilion, Photo Exhibition Gallery, Bangladesh Pavilion etc. of the 41st Agartala Book Fair.
