Amarpur’s traditional Baisakhi Mela and Bengali New Year celebration festival celebrations were held on Thursday at Amarpur Revenue Post Bengal Auditorium. Under the leadership of MLA Ranjit Das and in the presence of prominent people from different parts of the sub-division including Nagar Panchayat Executive Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, the meeting was held to celebrate the New Year on 1st Baisakh (April 15) and to organize a week-long traditional Baisakhi fair from next 25th Baisakh (May 9)The decision has been taken.A management committee and nine sub-committees have been formed with more than a hundred prominent people appointing MLA Ranjit Das as the chairman and the executive officer of the Nagar Panchayat as the convener to complete the year-long festival and the week-long Baisakh fair in a beautiful and orderly manner .
