The state-based chess competition for boys and girls under 14 and 17 years has started from yesterday at Teliamura Kabi Nazrul Vidyabhaban. Organized by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, this competition will continue till May 1. Inaugurating the chess competition, Tripura Legislative Assembly Chief Secretary and MLA Kalyani Roy appealed to all concerned to extend their hand of cooperation to make this event a success. 108 chess players from all districts of the state participated in the chess competition. Teliamura Municipal Corporation Chairperson Rupak Sarkar and Vice Chairperson Madhusudan Roy, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Abhijit Chakraborty, Tripura Sports School Board Joint Secretary Dibyendu Dutta, Deputy Director of Youth Affairs and Sports Department Kamalendu Sheel and others were also present in the opening ceremony.
