Various Gram Panchayats of Mohanpur Block have been awarded for their success in implementing central and state government schemes for public welfare. Mohanpur block level prize distribution ceremony was organized yesterday. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath was present as the Chief Guest at the award distribution ceremony held at Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti auditorium. At the programme, Simna Gram Panchayat was awarded for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Grameen, Mohinipur and Kalkalia Gram Panchayat jointly awarded for spending 100 percent of Panchayat Development Fund, Kalkalia Gram Panchayat was awarded for developmental work under 15th Finance Commission and Phatikchhara Gram Panchayat was awarded for creating labour days under MGNREGA. The guests handed over mementos and certificates to the representatives of the Gram Panchayat.
On the occasion, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that public representatives at the grassroot level and employees should work with commitment to implement various developmental works in the rural areas of the state. Gram Panchayats should become self-reliant. The Agriculture Minister advised each Gram Panchayat in the block to increase its own income to become self-reliant. He called upon every village panchayats to plant 5,000 trees and take concerted efforts to keep the village clean. The Agriculture Minister also said that the construction work of a public library will be completed in Mohanpur’s Oiran Chowmuhani within the next 6 months. The employees working in Mohanpur Block and Panchayat were given certificates for their outstanding work in various categories. Chairman of Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Rina Debbarma, Vice Chairman Rakesh Deb, BDO Narayan Chandra Majumder and others were present at the programme.
