One dead, five injured by lightning in different areas of Bishalgarh. Badal De (60) died due to lightning in paddy field in Golaghati area under Takarjala police station. Meanwhile, Pavitra Das of Bishalgarh East Lakshmibil, Kulsoom Bibi of Aravindnagar, Chandan Debnath of Champamura, Sumitra Sarkar Bhowmik of Kadamtali and a pregnant woman named Basanti Saha of Jangalia were also seriously injured by lightning. They have been referred to GB from Bishalgarh Hospital. District SDM Vinay Bhushan Das along with BJP district president Gaurang Bhowmik rushed to the hospital after getting the news. The family of the deceased was given financial assistance of rupees 10,000 at the hospital.
