Aggrieved by the permanent solution to the drinking water crisis and power outages, the rehabilitated Riang refugees joined the protest in Kalajhari Hills. All of a sudden, traffic on the road was severely disrupted due to this protest. Traffic was stopped on Gandachhra-Amarpur road for more than two hours. Numerous vehicles including commuters got stuck in it. Passengers and vehicle drivers face unbearable pain due to intense heat. Refugees from Mizoram, resettled in Kalajhari hills, started this demonstration on Amarpur-Gandachhara road in front of their camp from 8 am on Thursday. On hearing the news, Gomti District Assistant District Magistrate Pankaj Chakraborty, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Prashant Badal Niyogi, Drinking Water and Health Department Amarpur Assistant Vastukar Subhas Chakma and other officials rushed. After giving assurances to resolve the crisis, the situation returned to normal.
