The National Education Policy-2020 will play a conducive role in developing talent and skill of the students of the state. Besides, as a result of implementing this education policy, the quality of education in the state shall further improve in coming days, enunciated Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Sala at the inaugural programme of Implementation of National Education Policy- 2020 in the state held at Agartala Town Hall today. The Chief Minister said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has often said that those who carry knowledge, the world is theirs. That is why, the central government has formulated new National Education Policy forging the country’s heritage and tradition with world best knowledge resource.
The Chief Minister said, students from all over the world used to pursue education from
India’s Nalanda and Takshila universities in ancient days. The Prime Minister aims to bring
back the glory of the Indian education system. The new National Education Policy has been
formulated to develop a world class education system in consistence with the Indian values.
Karnataka was the first state to have implemented this new National Education Policy-2020.
Later on, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Assam and other states also implemented the new
National Education Policy. Today, this new National Education Policy is being implemented
primarily in Higher Education. He said, there is a 4 years degree course including honours/research in the new National Education Policy-2020. Apart from that, there is scope for exit and entrance in this new National Education Policy. If a student wants to pursue education on other course and wants to leave current course, then he may leave the college. In that case, the concerned college or university will provide certificate and evaluate the student. The Chief Minister also said, besides ensuring quality education, emphasis is being given to creating job opportunities in the new National Education Policy. The teachers and professors must give importance to following proper guidelines to successfully implement the new National Education Policy. He said, the students of the state have lots of talents. Our students are no less than the students of other parts of the country in terms of talent. As the education system of entire country is one with new National Education Policy-2020, students of the state would not have to face any difficulty in pursuing national level education
The Chief Minister said, there are presently many government and private colleges and universities in the state. The education hub in the state is being built centering on these instintes. The Chief Minister hoped that the new National Education Policy will be fruitful. Secretary of Education department Saradindu Chowdhury said, National Education Policy-2020 is different from the earlier education policy. The new National Education Policy will help in giving proper knowledge to each and every student. This education policy will help the students to keep up with the pace of the present world. The Secretary of Education department called on the teachers and everyone to properly implement the new National Education Policy. Other dignitaries present there were Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University Prof. Gangaprasad Prasain, Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Bir Bikram College Prof. Satyadeo Podder and Director of Higher Education N. C. Sharma.
