Agro-forestry fair was held yesterday in the old town hall of Amarpur. The fair was organized under the initiative of Tripura SCATFORM Project of Forest Department. MLA Rampada Jamatia inaugurated the fair. MLA Ranjit Das, Chairperson of Amarpur Nagar Panchayat Bikash Saha, Director of SCATFORM Project Chaman Lal Negi, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Amarpur Sub-division Prashanta Badal Negi and others were present at the inaugural programme. Inaugurating the fair, MLA Rampada Jamatia said that agro-forestry will play an important role in improving the socio-economic status of patta holder tribal families in the forest area. Moreover, the income will increase through agro-forestry. MLA Ranjit Das and DFO NK Chanchal also spoke among others on the occasion. Chairman of Amarpur BAC Ravitra Jamatia presided over the opening programme.
