Import and export of goods through Akhaura land port will be closed for six consecutive days on the occasion of Bakri Eid. Passenger traffic between the two countries will remain normal during this time.
This was informed in a circular signed by Akhaura C&F Agent Association General Secretary Forkan Ahmed Khalifa and Import Exporters Association General Secretary Shafiqul Islam. It is mentioned that import and export of goods through the port will be closed from Tuesday, June 27 to Sunday, July 2. Import and export of goods through the port will resume from Monday, July 3. Akhaura Immigration Police in-charge Hasan Ahmed Bhuiyan said that even if the import-export activities are stopped for a few days, the passengers with passports between the two countries will not be affected.
