On the eve of 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the ruling party BJP has become more powerful in the state. Ashish Lal Singh, son of the state’s first Chief Minister late Sachindra Lal Singh, joined the BJP today after talking to Chief Minister Manik Saha. Ashish Babu was in Trinamool Congress till now. A few days ago, the state government allotted a house in the name of Lakshmi Devi Singh, mother of former Trinamool President Ashish Babu of Tripura Pradesh. Asish Babu was joined by some of the defeated Trinamool Congress candidates in the BJP. Prashant Bhattacharya, spokesperson of the Pradesh Congress, joined the BJP after talking to the Chief Minister on this day. He resigned from the Congress and joined the BJP on Wednesday in protest against the appointment of party leader Asish Saha as the state president. At the party change ceremony at the state BJP office, defectors Ashish Lal Singh and Prashant Bhattacharya, who left the Trinamool and Congress, were received on this day by the Minister of Transport, Tourism and Food Public Administration Sushant Chowdhury, along with the state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharya, party general secretary Amit Rakshit, Asim Bhattacharya others.
