The role of farmers is important in the economic development of the state. Therefore,the state government is working seriously for the development of agriculture and thewelfare of farmers. New plans are being taken for the welfare of farmers. Agricultureand Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this while inaugurating BelbariAgriculture Sub-Division Office yesterday. On the occasion, the Agriculture Ministeralso said that this is the 45th agriculture sub-division office in the state. In the comingdays, the agriculture sub-division office will be opened in each block of the state. Thegovernment is above politics and working for everyone so that even the last person ofthe society is not deprived of the government scheme. It is for this purpose that PrimeMinister Narendra Modi launched the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Along with this,Prati Ghare Sushason 2.0 campaign has also been started in the state so that peoplecan take advantage of various schemes and services of central and state government.The Agriculture Minister said that 45 percent of the agricultural work in the country isnow done by machines. Our goal istake it to 100 percent. So farmers are beinggiven different agricultural machinery under government subsidy. The income offarmers has also increased in the state.On the occasion, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the aim of the
government is to deliver government schemes to every eligible beneficiary of thestate. The government has adopted various schemes to increase the income of farmers.The country will be prosperous only if the farmers are self-reliant. He said that paddyis now being purchased twice a year from farmers at MSP in the state and farmers arebenefiting from it. Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare DepartmentSharadindu Das delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Besides, MI.ABiswajit Kalai, MLA Swapna Debbarma, MDC Ganesh Debbarma, Secretary ofAgriculture Department Apurba Roy also spoke on the occasion. Chairman of BelbariBAC Roken Debbarma gave the vote of thanks. After the opening ceremony, theguests unveiled the plaque of Superintendent of Agriculture office of Belbari Agri.Sub-Division and visited the office. On the occasion, the guests handed over fourpower tillers, three sprayer machines, a pump set and other agricultural machinery tothe beneficiary farmers.
