Agartala, June 4: On the occasion of World Environment Day, a public awareness rally titled “Walk for Your Planet” was organized by the social organization Arpan Society. The rally commenced on Friday morning from in front of the Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala and passed through several important routes of the city before concluding at its starting point.
The event was aimed at promoting environmental conservation, tree plantation, and the creation of a pollution-free society. A large number of environmental enthusiasts and volunteers participated in the rally.
Among those present were Dr. Biswajit Bhattacharjee, Secretary of Arpan Society, and S. Prabhu, CEO of the IGDC Project under the Forest Department, along with other distinguished guests. The speakers urged citizens to play a responsible and active role in protecting the environment and preserving natural resources for future generations.
