Agartala, Saturday: Tripura Gramin Bank, which began its journey on 21 December 1976 with a modest business of ₹4,500, has now reached nearly ₹15,400 crore in total business in its Golden Jubilee year. Initially, the bank started with four founding branches at Agartala, Bishramganj, Bishalgarh and Jolaibari with the aim of providing formal banking services to rural farmers, artisans and economically weaker sections of society.At present, the bank operates across all eight districts of Tripura with 150 branches, 13 ultra-small branches, three regional offices and 43 ATMs.Addressing a press conference held at Pragya Bhavan on Saturday, the Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank, Satyendra Singh, said that the bank’s total business increased to ₹15,422 crore in the financial year 2025–26, compared to ₹14,065 crore in 2024–25. During the same period, total deposits rose to ₹10,890 crore, while total advances reached ₹4,532 crore.He further informed that the bank’s net profit increased significantly from ₹104.90 crore in FY 2024–25 to ₹184.84 crore in FY 2025–26. The press conference was also attended by General Manager Anup Kumar Saha and Chief Manager Shailesh Vishwaranjan.
