Agartala,12th May, The traditional last Mangalchandi Puja of the month of Baishakh was held on the last Tuesday of Baishakh (28th Baishakh) at the Mangalchandi Temple located in the inner premises of Ujjayanta Palace. Since morning, a large number of devotees gathered at the temple premises and participated in the rituals and prayers.
According to history, the Mangalchandi shrine was established by Maharani Tulsibati, one of the queens of the Tripura royal family. It is believed that she founded the sacred pot (Ghat) of Goddess Mangalchandi after receiving divine instructions in a dream.
Since then, the Mangalchandi Puja has been performed regularly at the inner palace of Agartala Rajbari during the month of Baishakh. The puja holds significant religious and traditional importance for the local people, drawing a large number of devotees every Tuesday of the Baishakh month.
