Memorandum Submitted to East Agartala Women Police Station Demanding a Drug-Free Environment

Agartala, June 9: The East Agartala Regional Committee of the All India Democratic Women’s Association  on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the Officer-in-Charge of the East Agartala Women Police Station, demanding immediate action to curb the growing menace of drug abuse in the area.

The organization alleged that the spread of narcotics has reached alarming proportions and is posing a serious threat to the younger generation. It urged the administration to take stringent measures to prevent the proliferation of drugs and related activities.

In the memorandum, the committee demanded an immediate halt to the open sale and consumption of intoxicants in the Banamalipur area, increased police patrolling in vulnerable localities, and the installation of CCTV cameras in areas known as gathering spots for drug users and gamblers.

The leaders of the organization emphasized that prompt implementation of these demands is essential to safeguard society and protect future generations from the harmful effects of drug addiction and anti-social activities.
