Agartala, June 16: A significant meeting was held on Tuesday at Sonar Tori State Guest House in Agartala with the objective of strengthening the overall development of the Scheduled Caste community and enhancing the effectiveness of various welfare schemes.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held with the Chairman of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Sub-Committee on a range of issues concerning the welfare and advancement of the community.Today’s meeting discussed in detail the decisions taken in the meeting six months ago and the extent of work that has been done.Among those present were Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das, Department Secretary Deepa D. Nair, and other senior government officials.
The discussions focused on ways to expand government assistance for members of the Scheduled Caste community, ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach a larger number of beneficiaries, and explore new initiatives aimed at improving their socio-economic conditions.
The meeting also reviewed possibilities for enhancing opportunities in education, employment, social security, and the coverage of various government grants and allowances. Officials present at the meeting reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life of the Scheduled Caste community and exchanged views on adopting more effective measures in the future to achieve this objective.
