The state government aims to make citizen of the state self-dependent in every sector. The government aims to build a self-reliant Tripura. People of rural areas at present are becoming self-dependent through fish farming. The socio-economic condition of the rural people is improving, enunciated Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma after inaugurating two-storied modern fish market shed at Lalsingmura Bazar in Charilam yesterday. I crore 30 lakh rupees was spent for constructing of the modern market with the financial assistance of NABARD
Fisheries Minister Prem Kumar Reang in the programme said, the Fisheries department is
making efforts to help the fish farmers become self-dependent through implementation of
different plans. There was a time when fish supply was not sufficient in the state few years back,
whereas it is being possible to meet the demand at present. The state government aims to build
the state self-reliant in fish production.
Other dignitaries present in the programme were Sabhadhipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Supriya Das Datta, Chairman of Charilam Panchayat Samiti Rakhi Das Kar and Director of Fisheries department Moslem Uddin Ahmed. The programme was presided over by Lalsingmura Gram Panchayat Pradhan Soma Das Kar, Welcome speech was delivered by Deputy Director of the department Khitish Debbarma .
