The police have finally nabbed two more accused in the shooting in front of Sonar Bangla Dhaba in Nutan nagar under Airport Police Station. The pistol was also recovered. The arrested are Sandeep Kar and Prantosh Das. The police force led by SDPO Ajay Kumar Das arrested them from a secret hideout behind Chinnaihani Kalibari late on Thursday night. These accused were absconding since the incident. The police raided several places including the house of the accused several times. Finally on Thursday, based on secret information, they were arrested in a late night raid. Along with that, the police also recovered a modern pistol with a fresh cartridge from the arrested. SDPO Ajay Kumar Das said that the bullet casings recovered from the spot are believed to have been fired from this pistol that day. Besides, the arrested have admitted the incident. However, the matter will be clear only after the forensic investigation. Two miscreants came to hide the pistol at that place last night, he said.
It is to be noted that the two accused were arrested by the police on the day and night of the incident. But the rest of the accused could not be arrested. Also, the police could not recover the firearm used in the shooting. There has been a storm of criticism in various circles about this. Finally, within a month of the incident, the police succeeded. Four people have been arrested so far in this shooting.
