The construction work of the multi-storey commercial building with multi-level car parking at the old motor stand is going to start tomorrow Friday with the Bhoomi Poojan held by the present Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. The building will have parking facilities for 280 small and medium vehicles to decongest Agartala city. Besides, there will be commercial places, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, multiplexes etc. The height of this building will be 50 meters. Which is the tallest building not only in the state but also in the entire North East. This building will be built in private public partnership. The land has been leased by the government to a private company for 30 years. Initially, this parking complex and modern commercial building will be built with 200 crore rupees. Private companies will give lease rent to the government. The project will be completed within three years. Besides, the private company will own it for up to 30 years. Later, if they want to increase the contract with the state government, they can do it, otherwise everything including the building will be owned by the state government. This is the second project of private public partnership. Polotower was earlier built through the same deal. Purnigam mayor Deepak Majumder, Councilor Ratna Dutta, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Shailesh Yadav and other officials visited the area on Thursday.
