Special initiatives have been taken to increase voter turnout in 54 polling stations in four assembly constituencies of Udaipur division. SVEEP programs such as street plays, Rangoli festivals etc. have been undertaken to create awareness among the voters so that the voter turnout is more than 92 percent on these identified Wednesdays. SDM Jayant Bhattacharya told this news in a press conference at Udaipur Sub-Divisional Ruler’s office on January 9. He appealed to all to participate in the Rangoni festival organized on the occasion of Paush Sankranti in view of the upcoming Tripura Assembly elections in the four assembly constituencies of Udaipur division like all over the state. He said that the competition will be on the issues of peaceful elections, communal harmony, easy elections etc. 10 winners from each constituency will be awarded on National Voter’s Day on January 25. The press conference was attended by Additional District Commissioner of Gomti district and other officials including Sumit Lodh.
