Government has decided to set up agriculture division offices in every block of the state: The present government is working to double the income of farmers by 2022-23. The government has decided to set up agricultural subdivision offices in every block of the state. The government has taken this decision to provide the services of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare more closely to the farmers. Prananjit Sinharai, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, said this while inaugurating the Bharatchandranagar Agricultural Supervisor Office today. He said, farmers are our main food provider. Earlier there were 58 blocks in the state but there were 36 agricultural subdivisions. The present government is setting up new agricultural subdivisions. Bharatchandranagar Agricultural Sub-Division is the 41st Agricultural Sub-Division. Today Poangbari Agricultural Sub-Division will also start the road. Along with it, 8 agricultural subdivisions will be started in 8 blocks of South Tripura. He also said that the government is always aware of the welfare of farmers, and the government has given importance to increasing agricultural production. Government is playing an important role in the sale of agricultural produce. KCC loans of Tk 1386 crore have been disbursed to farmers so far. More than 2 lakh 43 thousand farmers in this state have received more than 510 crore rupees through Kisan Samman Nidhi. Over 8 lakh farmers have benefited from the crop insurance scheme. He said that after the coming of the present government, the farmers have received a total subsidy of 600 crore rupees in various projects. Earlier the per capita income of farmers was 6380 Tk. 11096 in the financial year 2021-22. It will double in FY 2022-23. It should be noted that there are total 6411 farmer families in Bharatchandranagar Agricultural Sub-division. Earlier Bharatchandranagar block was included in Rajnagar Agricultural Sub-Division. Bharatchandranagar Agriculture Supervisor office started today at Bilonia Agriculture Sector Office Complex at Ballamukshath of Sukantanagar Panchayat under Bharatchandranagar Block. South Tripura Zilla Parishad President Kakali Das Dutta, Bharatchandranagar Panchayat Samiti Chairman Putul Pal Biswas, philanthropist Gautam Sarkar and others were present at the inauguration ceremony. Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Sharadindu Das delivered the welcome address.
