Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working on various plans to build Digital India. As a part of this, the state government has also launched digitization system in various government departments. Besides, the process of making the state assembly as an e-assembly has also been started from today. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the training program on NEVA (National-e-Vidhan Application) for Members of the Legislative Assembly in the lobby of the Legislative Assembly today. Assembly Speaker Vishwabandhu Sen, Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Pal, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Leader of Opposition Animesh Debbarma along with Cabinet members and MLAs were present in the training programme. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the training program for all the members/Members of the Assembly is the first step in the formation of e-Vidhan Sabha. Like other states of the country, the move to form the e-Vidhan Sabha is certainly an important aspect for the state. If the e-Assembly is launched properly, it will be possible to do all the work of the Assembly without paper (paperless) in the future. It will save time as well as money. Besides, some of the complex processes of running the assembly will also be reduced. The Chief Minister said that Neva is a part of Digital India, launched by the Central Government. The main objective of Digital India is to digitize everything. The state government has also started the process of digitization of various government sectors. The use of Neva application in the state assembly will make it easy to store all the information of the assembly and also help in quick information sharing. Apart from reducing the cost of running the assembly, the work of the assembly will also become easier. Besides, the voting process in the assembly will also become much easier.
On the occasion, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the Prime Minister has given importance to building a digital system across the country. The state government is also working seriously in this regard. Making the state assembly e-voting will save time, save money, save money, easily share information, have an e-voting system to complete the voting process easily and quickly. All the members/Members of the Vidhan Sabha will be trained on the ‘Neva application’ from today till next 25th June. The MLAs will be trained on how to use the tab, how to participate in the e-Vidhan Sabha, raising questions, voting procedures etc.
On the occasion, Leader of Opposition Animesh Debbarma said that a lot of money is spent on paper and other things every day in running the assembly. If the e-Assembly is introduced, the Assembly will be paperless and money will also be saved. Therefore, he urged all the members of the Assembly to take an important role in making the e-Assembly.
Assembly Speaker Vishwabandhu Sen, Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Pal and Assembly Secretary Vishnupada Karmakar also spoke on the occasion. Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Vishwabandhu Sen handed over the tab to Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha on the occasion. Besides, the chief minister and other guests handed over the tabs of the members of the assembly.
